How to Prepare for Your Venom Testing Appointment

To help you prepare for your visit, please review the information below.

Please be aware, we are unable to receive text replies.  If you have questions about your appointment or need to cancel/reschedule, please call us at 503-228-0155.

You are currently scheduled for venom allergy testing.  Please note: A consult visit is REQUIRED BEFORE venom testing is scheduled.  There are a variety of reactions that can occur after being stung by a vespid and not all are allergic reactions.  A visit with your provider will determine if testing is indicated.  If you have not had this consultation first, please call our office to reschedule this visit for a consult.

For the venom testing appointment, stop antihistamines and high doses of vitamin C (>500 mg/day) at least 5 days prior to the visit.  This testing appointment can last from 1 hour up to 4 hours.  Please schedule accordingly.  You may bring snacks and drinks with you if you would like.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow for check in.  Please ALWAYS bring your current insurance card (or cards) with you to your visit.  Plans are often updated or slightly modified especially at the beginning of a year.  We will need to check your card EACH visit for any changes and scan if needed.  Incorrect insurance billing information can cause delays in processing your claim and cause charges to be transferred to you until correct information is obtained.  If you are covered by more than one insurance, please bring ALL insurance cards to your visit.

Additionally, please bring a valid photo ID to your visit.  If the patient is a minor, please have a parent/guardians photo ID available.

Parking validation is available for Smart Park (10th & Yamhill). Get more information about the location and how to use the new validation codes on our patient resources page: https://www.allergyclinic.net/patient-resources
